FAQ

Q:  What do Skribblz stick to?
A:  Any flat surface, such as walls, glass, mirrors, stairs, cabinetry, metals, etc.  The Creative Series also adheres nicely to paper and craft projects.

Q:  How much do Skribblz cost?
A:  Skribblz are very reasonably priced eventhough they are customized.  An average quote at 1" high and 4 feet long is only $19.99 (plus shipping and applicable taxes).

Q. How much does Skribblz cost if I design it myself?
A. It depends on how big you want it. When you design your own, you'll note that the price of your skribblz changes whenever you make a size change.

Q: How can I get my image to transfer easily to my wall?
A: Here are our top three most commonly reported transfer problems:

  • Funky Paint: Though there aren't many, some paints just aren't compatible with Skribblz art. It's one of the reasons we recommend trying a free sample.
  • Surface Texture: Your walls may be too rough. This will be pretty obvious once you try to transfer because there simply won't be enough surface for the skribblz to adhere to. Again, if you're in doubt about a textured surface, ask us to send you a free sample.
  • Expired Skribblz:  If your image has been stored for any length of time, especially in extreme temperatures or with gasoline or other chemicals, it can lose its ability to transfer
  • Dirty walls: You must clean your walls prior to a Skribblz application.   There is a certain amount of dust and residue on even the cleanest wall, that sometimes can cause your Skribblz not to stick properly.

Q. Are the quotes found on the Skribblz site accurate?
A. Because we share so many quotes sent to us from unofficial sources, it’s possible that the wording and attributions of some quotes may not be accurate.

Q. Can I paint my wall before hanging Skribblz?
A. Yes, but wait at least one month after painting. If a piece of masking tape does not remove any paint from an inconspicuous place on your freshly painted wall, your wall is ready for skribblz.

Q. Can I put Skribblz over wallpaper?
A. Yes, but consider it carefully. Skribblz tend to look best on solid-colored or subtly patterned walls. We suggest trying a sample first.

Q. Can I wash skribblz?
A. Yes. Use mild soap and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using cleaners that contain alcohol or abrasives.

Q. Can I leave Skribblz on my walls forever?
A. Yes. But remember that colored walls tend to fade over time, especially if they’re exposed to sun. You may have Skribblz "ghosts" on these walls when you remove your Skribblz.

Q. I can’t hang my Skribblz right away. Is that okay?
A. Skribblz Art becomes more difficult to transfer the longer it is stored, so we recommend ordering it when you know you'll use it right away. If you must postpone hanging your graffiti, store it in a clean, dry area away from excessive moisture and sunlight. Keep it in its shipping carton and don’t store it in temperatures above 100°F.

Q. How long is delivery?
A. Since every Skribblz order is custom, please expect 2 weeks with standard delivery.   We try to get all of our orders out within 3 business days, however this depends on the design and size.

Q. Can I get samples?
A. Sure, and they're free.

Q. How do I remove Skribblz?
A. Just slide a fingernail under a corner of a letter, and peel it off. If it resists, warm it with a hair dryer set on low.

Q. Will Skribblz art transfer to textured walls?
A. No, it doesn't transfer well to very rough walls, but we've tested it on medium- to lightly textured walls and it looks great.

Q.  Can I put Skribblz on cold walls or walls that are damp?
A.  cold temperature will cause your artwork to become brittle and the adhesive will loose it’s ‘sticky’ properties.  Dampness may cause your paint to improperly cure and result in the skribblz peeling off part of the paint when you attempt to remove it.
